The Occasion
When ESPN started to broadcast in the Netherlands, the club wanted a iconic tv registration of one of the most importand games of the year.
The Concept
We proposed to take a large steadycam with a camera man on a tandem jump and broadcast live when we flew in the Kuip staion in Rotterdam.
Technical Execution
The jump required: - Custom-designed camera attachment system - Precise calculation for a precice landing inside the soccer stadium. - Coordination with stadium cameras for broadcast coverage. - Wind analysis for the open stadium environment
Bob exited from the aircraft at 2,000 meters and deployed the parachute at 1500 meters, allowing us to film the stadium and landing inside the stadium. The landing placed him directly in front of the entering players.
Legacy
The image of a camera man hanging under a tandemparachute filming it live.
